Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

"And our world, will do the time warp again!" proclaimed Magenta, and she laughed. Riff followed along, striking his elbow against hers in the symbol of affection they had both come to know.

"Activate the transit crystal, Magenta. We've not a moment to lose".

"But what about . . . "

"About what?" Riff interrupted, as he was good at doing when it came to something Magenta had to say.

"About THEM", she replied, and pointed to the various dead bodies that lay motionless around them.

"Oh them," he sighed "We'll clean it up before we arrive". He stepped past her, looking over his shoulder to reiterate. "The transit crystal??"

Magenta tore her eyes away from Frank and Rocky as they floated in the pool. "Right away"

Riff went out of the room and down the hall, peering out the window in wait, his fingers tapping the window pane in anticipation. "The crystal, Magenta . . . " A smile crossed his face as he began to see smoke billowing below him, and he braced himself for the jolt of the braces being broken as the ship tore away from the planet's surface. With a loud creak and a shake, it was airborne, and he could see the writhing forms of Brad, Janet, and Dr. Scott beneath them in the rubble. "Good Lord", he mumbled "they're singing again."

Magenta tapped his shoulder from behind. As he turned, he read the look on her face and nodded.

The two began to drag the bodies and pile them, and after a good while finally decided that the safest thing to do was to shove them all into the large bin in the kitchen marked "waste". The others were simple enough, but Eddie's size, even though it had been severely mangled earlier at the hands of Frank, was not so easy to manage. They pushed and shoved until finally, all evidence of the corpses were out of sight.

"Disgusting" Riff growled and grabbed a rag to wipe the extra blood off his clothes with.

"They didn't HAVE to die, you know", she said, her glare searing through the tone of her voice. "And we still must come up with a plan to explain all this. What will the Old Queen say when she finds out?"

Riff sat in silence.

"Here we are, we have been sent on a mission to Earth, and we have killed both the Commander and the very thing he was to do here. This will not go over well, you must realize that."

Riff's face remained unchanged, though his fingers twitched slightly.

"Well? What are we going to do? You have been the one with the plan, Riff-Raff. I await your decision," she spoke mockingly "Master"

Suddenly, Riff jumped to his feet. "What will we do? WE? WE will do nothing." he grabbed the laser and aimed it straight for her. "I, on the other hand, will."

"What are you doing? Have you lost all your senses?" Magenta began to step back to the wall, not liking the look burning in her brother's eyes.

"You're just like the rest of them! Like all of them! You never trusted me! You never liked me!" his hands shook as he spoke, looking frightened and hurt, but more than either of those, insane.

Magenta screamed, but only for a brief moment before she had no breath left to scream with. Riff watched with tears in his eyes as the laser seared through her body and she fell lifeless to the floor. "So you see, your Majesty . . . " he said as he carefully opened her hand and placed the laser in it "I simply had to kill my own dear sister. She had lost her mind and wreaked such incredible carnage . . . I . . ." he sighed and walked out of the room, throwing the rag over his shoulder, "Or something to that effect".

The journey to Transexxual was by no means a short one. Riff sat quietly by the window, watching the stars move past him. His fingers idly began to brush against the side of his suit; his mind began to wander, inevitably bringing his thoughts back to the events of the last few days. Rationalization proccesses, as are natural in such situations, began to ooze through his mind.

And they went a bit like this:

What's happened here, I'm supposed to be the one
In charge, at large, and the winner of it all
Will it disappear, let me go on
The weight, the hate, the pride before the fall

All that I can hear, now is my mind
It calls, I fall, far down below
Wrapped in my fears, I need to find
The will, my fill, the way I need to go

I've given everything I have.
Walked the dark and winding path
I've played the master and the slave,
the willing loser to the grave,
It's time I turned it all around.
I felt it burning in my heart
Gave me the reason to depart
They hurt me bruised me held me back
Still I kept right on my track
And now I'm homeward bound.

And now I say I'm not willing to lose
I know a way to light my own fuse
And send me home.
Send me home.

As the words trickled off his lips, Riff's eyes began to close of their own will. He slept there at the window quietly, and looked almost at peace with himself; if not quite peace, he was at least happy.
