(AKA Legend in Leotards)

Richard didn't actually ACT in this film, but he did provide three songs for it with Richard Hartley composing the music. Evil Midnight, Name Your Poison and The Theme From Captain Invincible.

The film itself is a spoof of sorts on all of the superhero "Superman" sorts of films. The world is in a dire need of a hero, and the President of the United States recalls Captain Invincible, whom he had met many years before. And now, with his nemesis Mr. Midnight once again on the prowl doing his nasty work, the world NEEDS Captain Invincible.

The only trouble is, he's nursing a bottle of bourbon in an alleyway somewhere in Australia.

So a police officer is sent to revive him and help him to regain the use of his long-forgotten superpowers. Alan Arkin plays the alcoholic man in tights, and Christopher Lee plays the villain, Midnight.

The detective and the good Captain of course fall in love, but not before she is able to help him to become the hero he once was and save the world from almost certain doom.

- Name Your Poison was originally titled "Singin' The Booze", a much wittier expression of the contents of the song. (or the bottles)

- Christopher Lee once played the Narrator in a stage production of The Rocky Horror Show. He also revived that role, in a different context, for the Rocky Horror Interactive computer game.

- Australia seemed to be where it was at professionally for this year, The Stripper opened the same summer that this was filmed.
