In between moments of depression over the anniversary of John Lennon's death, I managed to find the time to go see Dungeons and Dragons.

I'm actually planning on seeing it again tomorrow, and hopefully I will have a more detailed view of the movie itself- because as of right now I admittedly was not watching the movie at ALL, but was simply waiting for a familiar bald head to pop up. (I did- here's a closer review.)

Richard gets a decent amount of screen time in this film, as Xilus- leader of the thieves' guild in Antius. This much of the plot I did manage to pick up- in Antius, the location of the guild, there is a maze. In the center of the maze is a stone called "The Dragon's Eye", which the group needs as a key of sorts.

This led Xilus to utter the line (also seen in the trailer) "You finish the maze- you get the prize".

Richard is highly enjoyable in this movie, very snide and deliciously scheming. He switches from sweet-talking to being a supreme badass in about 3 seconds flat.

Scenes:

Thieves' Guild, Antius, Xilus's quarters: Very very cool. Extremely flamboyant room that just seems to scream his character. Flanked by women and looking elfin and feminine himself, my favorite quote from this scene would have to be:

Xilus: "You finish the maze- you get the prize."
Ridley: "Has anyone finished the Maze before?"
Xilus: "Well . . . no. They all died, trying. But look on the bright side- that means the prize is still there."

The maze in Antius: Xilus and his henchman watch as Ridley tries to get through the maze. And like another "maze", he's heard to comment throughout the scene. Lots of great faces here.

Fave quote:

Marina: "I can't believe they're betting on whether he's going to live!"
Xilus: "On the contrary, precious morsel. They're betting on how long before he dies."

Thieves' guild, after the maze is solved: In more pure mocking form. Xilus congratulates Ridley on his cunning, and then demands to have the stone. Damodar breaks in, and Xilus gets VERY badass.

Ridley: "What about 'Honor among thieves'"
Xilus: "Honor among thieves?? What a romantic notion. Do you really think I amassed all this wealth by honor? Oh no no no no."
