"Only Irons and Richard O'Brien
("Rocky Horror," "Dark City," "Ever After"),
who hams
his way through a role as a tyrannical king of thieves, are entertaining
at all -- mostly because they're the only two people on screen who acknowledge
the hopelessly ludicrous nature of this movie and just run with it.
"
"That's Richard O'Brien -- creator of The Rocky Horror Picture Show -- in a small role as leader of a band of thieves."
" . . . a master thief (played by Richard O'Brien with cheer and comic snicker, in easily the film's best performance)"
"First stop, the City of Antius, where the Head of the Thieves Guild, Xilus (Richard O'Brien, of Rocky Horror Picture Show), puts Ridley into the Maze of Death. "
"Along the way, Rocky Horror’s
Richard O’Brien shows up
briefly as a swishy bandit leader, though he is later out-queened by
a nearly unrecognizable Tom Baker (from Dr. Who)."
"The quest leads the heroes
. . . into the lair of Richard O'Brien, who
was Riff Raff in The Rocky Horror Picture Show."
" DM: In his quest to find the red wand first, the young hero goes to a thieves' guild run by the guy who played Riff-Raff in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. "
-note: this review is written in the style of a D&D game. Pretty funny, especially if you've ever played.
"Rocky Horror's Richard O'Brien shows up as an amusingly fey King of the Thieves."
"A . . . campy cameo by Richard O'Brien of "Rocky Horror" fame redeem "D&D" from total doghood . . ."
