Rocky Horror Sequel News
- THE BIG NEWS ARRIVES!! As
reported by Marty from Scotland- Richard has finally finished the first
draft of Rocky Horror 2! He even gave it to Terry Jones (Of Monty Python
fame) to have a read. He called it a "ripping read" but felt the
second act needed tightening up, which apparently Richard agreed with. Further,
Richard performed "Not Dead Yet",
a tune that was originally written for Alive on Arrival.
I think we can guess from that that AOA is currently out-of-order. More
to come (hopefully!) soon! (Thanks to Marty and Ruth for the scoop)
- The most current news is this: The idea to stage the play in England
has apparently fallen through. The newest plan is to use a theatre in Germany
for the premiere, no tentative date available. The title "Second
Coming" has been RE-adopted as well. (7-08-01)
- The date of release is currently in the dark.
Richard has stated in a recent interview with
the Daily Radar that he is under no time constraints to finish the project,
but he is currently on the first song of the second act.
- Tentative title "Rocky Horror: The Second
Coming" dumped due to it's religious implications.
- Release pushed back from it's original date of
January to March.
- Richard mentioned the piece again, while I was
talking to him as he explained why AOA is on the back burner currently.
He did NAME the project however . . .
- Several articles in US papers mention the project,
sending American fans into a frenzy thinking it is intended for film.
- Richard again mentioned the work while on Rocky
Radio, though this time he did divulge the nature of the work, and even
stated the name of one of the songs, Frankie Phoenix, which (assumedly)
will appear in it.
- Richard mentioned the project (without naming
it) during the on-line interview with fans, early in 1999.
